These have proven to be rather popular: Ailsa Craig Sun-Catchers.
Here’s a close-up of the label
And the back, for those of you who don’t know what Ailsa Craig is all about.
The brief was for a birthday present. The customer sent me a photograph that her husband had taken of his daughter’s face.
I arranged for the photograph to be reproduced as a ceramic transfer, and then incorporated the image into a piece using crackle glass technique. The resulting piece is reminiscent of an old plaster fresco painting.
A few more examples of pieces using flow bar slices and mesh melt segments. The bottom two will probably be slumped into plates, or drop outs.
